Washington: In the past month, a renewed intensity in solar flares on the surface of the sun, which began after 2017, has affected radio communications worldwide.

According to American media, a few days ago, the U.S. space agency NASA observed solar flares through its telescope. The Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) reported that the mentioned event is one of the significant solar radio events in recent history, causing disruptions in radio communications for air traffic control agencies.

The agency also stated that the effects of solar flares were felt not only in America and regions with a more prominent display of the sun but also in other parts of the world. On the other hand, the SWPC is conducting research on the possible ejection of plasma from the sun’s surface towards the Earth.

NASA, in its statement, mentioned that solar energy flares can not only impact radio communications but can also affect electric power grids and signals for navigation. Additionally, potential hazards to aircraft and satellites are also a concern.
