Impact of Solar Flares on Global Radio Communications

Washington: After 2017, the intensity of solar flares on the surface of the sun has once again increased, affecting radio communications worldwide.

According to American media, a few days ago, NASA’s telescope observed solar flares. The Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) stated that this incident is one of the significant solar radio events in history, causing disruptions in radio communications at air traffic control centers.

The agency mentioned that the effects of solar flares were not limited to the United States but were also felt in other parts of the world.

On the other hand, SWPC is conducting research on possible plasma emissions from the sun’s surface towards the Earth.

NASA also stated in its announcement that solar energy flares can not only impact radio communications but can also affect electric power grids and signals for navigation. Furthermore, potential hazards for aircraft and satellites could arise due to these solar phenomena.
